Orbit Correction in the Lnls Uvx Electron Storage Ring

چکیده

The orbit measurement and correction system of the LNLS synchrotron light source is presented. Recent changes to the system including the addition of 12 vertical correctors and the use of 16 bit DACs to control the corrector magnet power supplies have improved the vertical orbit repeatability from fill to fill from ±70 μm to ±3 μm. The improved resolution also allowed the implementation of automatic orbit corrections at 24 second intervals, thus reducing orbit variations along a user’s shift from ±70 μm to ±5 μm.
